Blush pink has spent years being treated as a mood rather than a colour.

Soft. Romantic. Delicate. Usually photographed beside something equally well behaved.

Burgundy has the opposite problem. Left to its own devices, it can become rather serious.

Put them together and both improve.

So, does burgundy go with pink? Yes. Maroon works with pink too. The combination is strongest when one colour clearly leads and the pink is dusty rather than sugary.

Burgundy gives blush enough weight to stop it feeling precious. Blush takes some of the severity out of burgundy without making it less sophisticated.

After Chocolate × Cobalt — Electric turned the contrast up, Colour Code / 004 does something quieter.

Not safer.

Closer.

That is the difference.
